Swing Cats is the JV show choir at Millard West High School in Omaha, NE. Comprised of 59 unique and talented performers in grades 9-11, the ensemble rehearses twice a week after school. They are accompanied by their 32-member student band, the Snazz Cats, and their 8-member stage crew. The Swing Cats take incredible pride in their performance, while also remaining dedicated to their academic courses and various activities outside of show choir, including marching band, color guard, orchestra, forensics, wrestling, swimming, baseball, and softball, among others.
Their 2023 show explores destiny, legacy, and purpose. Sometimes making your way through life is like a dark night; it can be easy to lose your way and be afraid of what you cannot see. But if you just keep moving, following the joy and light in your life, you will end up where you need to be. In the darkest times, hope is something you give yourself. Their setlist includes:
“Made From The Stars” by Aloe Blacc
“Higher” by Michael Bublé Soloist: Killian Jackson Cusick
“Safer” from First Date Soloist: Jersi Rachow
“Joy” by Andy Grammar Soloists: Mikey Knowski, Dominic Baggiani, Gideon Fox
“It Gets Dark” by Sigrid
“Here We Go Again” by FLOYD WONDER
Proudly representing Millard West High School, directed and arranged by Drew Firkins, choreography by Braxton Carr, please welcome to the stage, Swing Cats!
